A shocking incident has come to light involving the mysterious death of Pritam Dasgupta, also known as Srinjoy, the stepson of BJP leader Dilip Ghosh. On Tuesday, his body was recovered from a luxury apartment in Newtown, Kolkata, where he lived alone.
Pritam was the son of Dilip Ghosh’s wife Rinku Majumdar from a previous marriage. The exact cause of his death is still unknown, and the police have remained tight-lipped about the details. Investigators are currently exploring all possible angles and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.
According to police sources:
- Pritam was found unconscious in the apartment on Tuesday morning.
- A woman who worked as his cook discovered him in that state and raised the alarm.
- One of Pritam’s friends also arrived at the flat shortly after and confirmed his unresponsive condition.
- News reached Pritam’s mother, Rinku Majumdar, who rushed to the scene around 9 a.m.
- He was taken to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital, where he was declared dead.
- His body was later moved to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem.
Initial police investigations found no signs of physical assault or struggle on his body. However, there was a bruise near his neck, which has led investigators to suspect suicide — although this has not yet been confirmed.
