West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced monthly financial aid for terminated Group C and Group D government employees. On Wednesday, after a cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister informed that a new scheme has been launched under the Labour Department to support these employees.
Speaking from Nabanna, she said,
“Those in Group C and Group D who are no longer receiving salaries — we had taken a decision earlier and now we are implementing it through a policy. There are people who, after being affected, face severe hardship. Under a new scheme of the West Bengal Labour Department, starting from April 1, 2025, Group C employees will receive ₹25,000, and Group D employees will receive ₹20,000 per month.”
